Protest. A very common word. A worldwide known word. Languages differ but the meaning is the same. Every moment everywhere this word is being uttered. For self-defence, protecting self-respect, safeguarding properties against any mischief, against government decisions or for similar reasons protest is being lodged everyday all around the world. It cannot be denied that protest is the main weapon of a man to fight against injustice. But very often the ways of protests do not stand correct. It is often found that while protesting against any deprivation or any incident people react violently which turns out to be a new crime. For example, the protest against any crime, people’s rage goes to such an extent that they destroy and burn houses, shops, offices, buses, trains, cars, motor cycles, etc, burn motor tyres on the middle of the roads, and so on. Neither these types of protests are desirable, nor should be supported. It does not make any damage or loss of the person actually responsible, but the loss of properties of the innocent common people becomes unnecessarily huge. And the damage of the government properties, loss of the government assets means our loss, our damage. Because the buses or the trains or the government offices – are built with the money of tax-payers. The making of transport, its fuel, its maintenance, the construction of government offices, its properties, furniture, maintenance cost – everything is borne by the tax-paying population. Buses and trains are a part of public transport. Public means we, the people. It means we destroy properties which are purchased against with our money. This is a loss from one point of view. The loss from the other perspective is also very damaging and far-reaching. Burning properties, cars, tyres, etc. results in the making of harmful gases that make the air hot and polluted. This pollution leads to respiratory diseases of men causing troubles and suffering of not only the current population but also of the future generations. Asthma and respiratory diseases are among certain genetic diseases which are hereditary. Pollution is the cause of respiratory diseases or the cause of the increase in such diseases. If we realise this truth that we are doing lots of harm not only to ourselves but also to our children who would be born with disorders, ailments and abnormalities, then we would refrain ourselves from taking desperate and destructive decisions. If we think of us, our near ones and then the people and stay away from this type of attempt, each one of us will play a definite role in making the world pollution-free. And the establishment of Permanent World Peace would be possible.
